"The Poet's Take Out" by Chromatic Destruction is a collection of eight poems revolving around a podcast the author has called "The Poet's Lunchbox". [Which you can listen to in at least 12 places]. The premise is pretty cool because as they say "The Poet's Lunchbox is a podcast full to the brim with raw poetry recorded right at the moment of inspiration, no polish no foresight, just feeling. These eight poems encapsulate some of the many feelings and emotions of the poems and rants the podcast displays. From commentary about privilege to grappling with dysphoria, the podcast encompasses many feelings, the highlights of which are showcased here." It's great to see a project with a strong relationship to audio because I think some of the most interesting poetry projects come from writers who involve more than just the visual sense or the format of the written word. Especially in a time where we understand that everyone's mind works a little differently - and that neutrotypical art processing is the the 'norm' or the 'default' - it's very exciting to see people who enjoy and create and consume audio and sound-filled projects creating poetry in these forms and mediums. I may be a photographic/visual thinker, but there's nothing better than a collection that is doing something I don't do! Publishing unedited work is also something I really enjoy from fellow writers, because it makes it clear to all of us . . . a perfected printed product isn't the only way art exists, and it isn't the only way it has to be to be shared. Check out the poems, and the podcast too!
